The GCC countries will invest over $119.6 billion in infrastructure projects over the next 10 years, of which rail projects account for more than 90 per cent, said a recent study by a research company. Saudi Arabia, which leads the Gulf countries in terms of investment, is spending $25 billion on its rail network adding 3,900 kilometres of track through three major projects, said Business Monitor International (BMI).
